Exercise is very important during pregnancy. Pilates is an exercise programme that concentrates on building strong muscles that brace the spine to support the extra weight of the baby. It also provides stability to the joints. Pilates helps strengthen the pelvic floor muscles which provide continuous support to the uterus and helps to reduce weakening and stretching of the pelvic floor during pregnancy.
Classes are available for mothers-to-be who are in their 2nd trimester and have been given consent by their GP or midwife to attend.
Pilates for Pregnancy is run by a Chartered Physiotherapist and is a wonderful opportunity to meet other mothers-to-be in a relaxing environment. There will be a small number in each class so everyone will benefit from individual attention.
Cost for the full 6 weeks is €75
