WINTER SOLSTICE YIN YOGA & SOUND BATH

REST, RELAX, RESTORE

We celebrate the upcoming return of light, the winter solstice, with this slow, nourishing yin yoga practice followed by a deeply relaxing sound bath. 

This is the perfect time of year to pause and give yourself the time and space to rest and restore your body, mind and spirit before the busy christmas season. 

We begin with a short meditation to help quieten the mind followed by yin yoga, a slower, gentler style of yoga where we hold the poses for longer periods of time, encouraging stillness and inviting ourselves to turn inwards and reconnect with the sensations of the body.

The slowing down and mindfulness of yin yoga, calms the nervous system, alleviating stress and tension while improving energy flow and restoring equilibrium and balance. 

We finish our practice with the soothing sounds of the Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, drums and other instruments. This will further engage your nervous system promoting a deep sense of relaxation and peace. 

Yin Yoga is a slower paced, gentler style of yoga using as many props as your body needs. We hold poses for longer periods of time, encouraging stillness and inviting ourselves to turn inwards and reconnect with the sensations of the body.

- anyone with a pacemaker

- anyone who has had major surgery or a metal implant inserted in the last 3 months

-  anyone in their first trimester of pregnancy
